We are looking for a motivated and organised Transport Planner / Administrator to join our operations team and support our afternoon and evening transport operation.
The Role
This is a varied role that combines transport planning with administration. You will play a key part in ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently while providing excellent customer service and supporting our drivers throughout the afternoon and evening.
You will work closely with our transport team to manage daily operations, communicate with customers and drivers, and ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and monitoring vehicle routes throughout the afternoon and evening.
- Supporting drivers with route queries and operational issues.
- Liaising with customers regarding delivery updates and ETAs.
- Managing transport emails and telephone enquiries.
- Updating transport management systems accurately.
- Booking collections and deliveries.
- Producing transport documentation where required.
- Monitoring vehicle progress and resolving delays.
- Completing administrative duties relating to transport operations.
- Conducting driver debriefs and ensuring paperwork is returned correctly.
- Working closely with the daytime planning team to ensure a smooth handover.
- Supporting compliance by maintaining accurate operational records.

Essential:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Professional and confident telephone manner.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within transport or logistics.
- Knowledge of UK drivers' hours and transport legislation (training can be provided).
