About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, practical and organised Warehouse Operative to join our Livestock Protect Services team.
This is a varied, hands-on and physically demanding role supporting the day-to-day running of our warehouse. You’ll help ensure our specialist equipment, emergency-response kits, PPE, vehicles and operational supplies are organised, maintained and ready for use.
The role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things organised and is comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving, checking and storing deliveries
- Picking, packing and preparing equipment and materials
- Preparing and repacking emergency-response kits
- Checking, cleaning and maintaining specialist equipment
- Carrying out basic pre-use and post-use equipment checks
- Reporting damaged, missing or faulty equipment
- Completing stock checks and maintaining accurate records
- Monitoring PPE, consumables and spare parts
- Loading and unloading company vehicles
- Preparing vehicles and equipment for operational deployment
- Cleaning and sanitising equipment in line with biosecurity procedures
- Supporting basic servicing and preventative maintenance
- Keeping the warehouse clean, safe and organised
- Supporting the wider operations team when required
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 3+ years experience in a warehouse, logistics, stock control, maintenance or similar practical role
- A full UK driving licence – essential, as you will be required to drive company vans
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in
- The ability to carry out a physically demanding role, including regular lifting, moving, loading and unloading of equipment
- Practical and mechanically minded, with confidence using hand tools and carrying out basic repairs and maintenance
- Good organisation skills and attention to detail
- The ability to follow procedures and safety instructions accurately
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills for stock control and record keeping
A forklift/telehandler licence is desirable but not essential.
Due to the nature of our work, there may occasionally be a requirement to work outside normal hours, travel to support operational activities or training, and spend occasional nights away from home.
