Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Morning Preparation Assistant to join our team in ensuring the smooth and efficient start to each day. We require 2 shifts per week, 1 weekday and 1 weekend day 8am-12 noon and holiday cover where required. This role involves opening up the shop, cleaning and preparing the frying range for the day ahead and all the potato preparation duties while upholding high standards of food safety and quality. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in catering, cooking, or restaurant experience to develop their skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols diligently during all food handling activities.
- Opening the shop, turning on all appliances, completing the range cleaning routine in preparation for the Fryer starting shift.
- Using machinery to prepare potatoes following the correct potato treatment process and meeting the daily shop demand.
- Cleaning all machinery thoroughly.
- Keeping the potato preparation area, clean and tidy following health and hygiene regulations.
- Taking delivery of stock and storing it away.
- Manual Handling, staff are responsible for their own health and safety in addition to company supplied PPE & training.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of meal preparation, food safety standards, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour.
- Ability to work early mornings consistently.
- Basic culinary experience or food preparation skills are preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
