About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Centre Lathe Turner to join our engineering team in Hartlepool.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating conventional centre lathes, producing high-quality components to engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate conventional centre lathes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Produce components accurately and to required tolerances.
- Select the correct tooling, speeds and feeds.
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components.
- Work with a range of engineering materials.
- Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
- Keep the work area clean, safe and organised.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Centre Lathe Turner / Manual Turner.
- Experience working from engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of manual turning techniques.
- Experience working to close tolerances.
- The ability to use micrometers, verniers and other measuring equipment.
- You must be able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A reliable, hardworking and professional attitude.
- A time-served or apprenticeship-trained engineering background is desirable.
