We are seeking to appoint a temporary Research Fellow to cover maternity leave join the Digital Sleep Support for Children with ADHD DISCA research project. DISCA is a 2.36-million-pound study awarded to Southampton Hospitals NHS Trust, and academics at Southampton University, Nottingham Trent University, Kings College London and Newcastle University. The aim of the DISCA programme is to evaluate a new digital sleep intervention for parents of children with ADHD. This post will be based within the Department of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, where the successful candidate will have access to a range of research expertise and facilities within one of the largest academic departments of Psychology in the UK.
The post-holder will assist and support the principal site Investigator (site PI) for DISCA Professor David Daley in carrying out academic research in evaluating sleep buddy our digital sleep intervention for parents of children with ADHD. The successful applicant will join researchers at other DISCA academic sites in verifying potential participants for the sleep buddy randomised controlled trial, conducting post intervention assessment and follow-up assessments, The successful candidate would also be expected to help support researchers at Kings College London with neuropsychological assessments of research participants. The post-holder may also be asked to provide some support for the site PI and the wider DISCA research team if required.
Candidates must have (or be in the process of completing) an MSc degree in Psychology or a mental-health related area and have some experience of conducting quantitative research. The position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, some experience of working with parents/families and sleep research. Experience of Actigraphy would also be an advantage but is not essential as training can be provided.
The post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until May/June 2027 at 18.5 hours a week and will be available from the start of September 2026,
