Greenkeeper Vacancy – Ivinghoe Golf Club

About Us:
Ivinghoe Golf Club opened in 1967 and is a friendly, family run, 9 hole golf club with a 220 strong membership with almost 8,000 visitor rounds played each year.
Set in the Chiltern Hills, our compact 20 acre site is set on free draining chalkland, allowing the course to be enjoyed all year-round.
We’re now looking for a dedicated full time Greenkeeper who will be responsible for maintaining the course to a high standard for all golfers to enjoy.
The Role:
Ivinghoe is a unique venue and as our full time Greenkeeper, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, presentation, and development of the golf course.
The fairways at Ivinghoe are maintained by robotic mowing, allowing maximum time to be dedicated to maintaining greens and teeing areas. All greens can be hand cut, our preferred method, within approximately two hours or using our triple greens mower, within one hour.
This unique role will suit someone who is flexible, self-motivated , multi skilled and most importantly someone who takes pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
· Mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs to required standards.
· Managing our Husqvarna robot fairway mower.
· Maintaining bunkers, pathways, hedges and surrounding areas.
· Setting up the course with regular hole changing, tee placement, etc.
· Application of organic bio chemical treatments and weedkillers.
· Carrying out turf care practices such as aeration, top‑dressing, overseeding, and irrigation.
· Operating and maintaining machinery safely and effectively.
· Assisting with course improvement projects and winter works.
· Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety guidelines.
About You:
· We’re looking for someone who is:
· Enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoys working outdoors.
· Able to work independently.
· Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
· Willing to learn new skills and take pride in high standards of presentation.
· Ideally experienced in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance (training can be provided for the right candidate)
Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential)
· NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Sports Turf Management.
· PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
· Experience with golf course machinery .
