Employment Type: Part Time – 2 days per week – Opportunities for overtime
Working Hours: Saturday to Sunday, 8:00am – 4:00pm & 8:00am - 1:00pm

We provide vehicle hire to both retail and business customers, with a focus on customer service, reliable vehicles, and efficient day-to-day operations.
About the Role
The Rental Agent will be based at our New Cross branch and will play a key role in the daily operation of the branch. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong communication skills, confidence, organisation, and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal with customers face-to-face, over the phone, and by email.
- Explain hire contracts, terms, charges, excesses, and customer responsibilities clearly and confidently.
- Process bookings, check-ins, check-outs, and vehicle returns.
- Answer customer emails and enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Handle customer complaints or disputes calmly, fairly, and professionally.
- Assist the Branch Manager with the daily running of the branch.
- Manage and prioritise multiple tasks throughout the day without constant supervision.
- Move vans safely around the branch, yard, and local area when required.
- Help ensure vehicles are clean, presentable, and ready for hire.
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any damage, faults, or maintenance concerns.
- Support other team members and be willing to muck in with practical jobs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, paperwork, and booking information.
- Help ensure customers receive a professional and efficient service.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Less than 6 points and licence held for more than 2 years.
- Confident driving and moving vans, including in tight spaces.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Confident explaining contracts, policies, and charges to customers.
- Good written communication skills for emails and customer correspondence.
- Proactive and able to manage a busy workload independently.
- Good timekeeping and task management skills.
- Calm and confident when dealing with customer disputes or difficult conversations.
- Willing to learn about vehicles, hire procedures, and fleet operations.
- Not afraid to get hands-on and help with cleaning, moving, or preparing vehicles.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in vehicle rental, customer service, sales, logistics, or administration.
- Knowledge of vans, vehicle hire, or basic vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with London roads and local areas around New Cross.
- Experience dealing with customer complaints or dispute resolution.
