Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. As a key player in our transportation operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods across various locations, ensuring timely arrivals and maintaining high standards of customer service. Duties
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles with professionalism, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition before each journey.
- Deliver goods using flatbed trailers, ensuring secure loading and unloading at designated sites.
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or any issues encountered on the road.
- Follow all company policies related to driving hours, rest periods, and load securement procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed trailer handling.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for HGV vehicles.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and valid HGV Class 1 license.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Good route planning skills with familiarity in navigating urban and rural areas.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable.
