Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Agency Community Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in their homes and care facilities. This role involves delivering personalised care to enhance the wellbeing and independence of clients, including elderly individuals, those with specialised needs, and persons requiring palliative or dementia care. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives, with experience in assisted living or home care environments. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer opportunities for professional development.
Duties
- Provide personalised patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Assist clients with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Support with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Support with behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Drive clients to appointments, social outings, or errands safely and responsibly
- Monitor and report on clients’ health status, changes in behaviour, or concerns to relevant healthcare professionals
- Offer emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, hospice, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly or vulnerable individuals
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, and behaviour management techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility needs
- Excellent organisational skills for managing multiple clients’ schedules and needs
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely
- Competence in medication administration following strict protocols
- First aid certification is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
