Peak Cyber Academy delivers professional education and consultancy in information security, regulatory compliance and AI governance to professionals and corporate clients across the UK.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Information Security and Compliance to join our academic team. In this role, you will inspire and educate students on the critical principles of cybersecurity, data protection, regulatory standards, and ethical practices in information management. Your expertise will help shape future professionals equipped to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of digital security. Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons and practical sessions on topics including cybersecurity fundamentals, compliance frameworks, risk management, and ethical hacking.
- Design and develop curriculum, comprehensive course materials, assessments, and learning activities that foster critical thinking and hands-on skills for our information security and compliance programmes
- Assess learner competence against defined learning outcomes and maintain records of attendance, achievement and progression
- Supervise student projects, internships, and research initiatives related to information security and compliance.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the cybersecurity field to ensure curriculum relevance.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance program offerings and promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students, supporting their professional development and career aspirations.
- Contribute to provide occasional subject-matter input to our consulting team so that teaching content reflects current practice
- Departmental administration by participating in committees, curriculum reviews, and outreach activities that strengthen the institution’s reputation.
Skills
- Excellent command of English with strong verbal and written communication skills essential for effective teaching and collaboration.
- Demonstrable experience of teaching or training adult learners, including course planning and assessment
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple courses, student supervision, and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
- Solid understanding of IT concepts including network security, cryptography, compliance standards (such as GDPR or ISO 27001), and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling clear communication with students from diverse backgrounds and engagement with industry partners.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles while maintaining high standards of academic excellence.
What we're looking for
Essential:
A recognised information security management or audit certification (for example ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer, CISA, or equivalent
Knowledge of information security frameworks and regulatory compliance
Ability to make technical material accessible to mixed-ability adult cohorts
Desirable:
A technical cyber security certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent)
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 42001 or the NIST AI Risk Management Framework

Pay: £45,000.00-£54,000.00 per year
