Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Self Employed Tail Lift Luton Owner Driver to join our dynamic delivery team. This role offers the flexibility of self-employment while providing essential transportation services. You will be responsible for safely operating a van equipped with a tail lift to deliver goods efficiently and securely to various locations. Your excellent driving skills, combined with your ability to handle heavy lifting and communicate effectively, will ensure smooth and professional service delivery. This position is perfect for experienced drivers looking for independence and variety in their work.
Duties
- Safely operate a commercial van fitted with a tail lift to transport goods to designated destinations
- Load and unload items, including heavy or bulky goods, using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimize fuel consumption
- Communicate clearly with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery times, delays, or issues
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs and delivery confirmations
- Adhere strictly to health and safety standards during all aspects of driving, loading, and unloading
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, particularly with van driving and commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safe driving practices
- Experience with warehouse operations or heavy lifting is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and manual handling
- Valid driving license suitable for commercial vehicle operation (e.g., Category B or higher)
- Familiarity with route planning software or navigation tools is a plus
