Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Care Support Worker to join our team, primarily working night shifts (8pm-8am). This role involves providing specialised support to individuals with mental health needs, as well as individuals with autism, or learning disabilities. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering patient-centred care within a supportive environment, promoting well-being and independence. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care and support to individuals with mental health conditions, including those with autism and disabilities
- Assist with daily activities and promote independence through tailored interventions
- Support patients in developing social skills and managing behavioural challenges
- Administer medication safely in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Monitor and record patient progress, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Engage in patient care activities that foster emotional well-being and resilience
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support plans are followed
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Previous experience in patient support or healthcare settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including nights, evenings, and weekends, if necessary
- A recognised qualification in health or social care is beneficial but not mandatory
