Job Vacancy: Workshop Joiner – Table Maker
Location: Clay Flatts Industrial Estate, Workington
Salary: £34,125 OTE (40-hour week) · £38,676 OTE (45-hour week)
Hours: 40 or 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Start: 2–4 weeks; immediate start possible
About the Role
We’re hiring a Workshop Joiner - Table Maker at Acumen Collection, a growing furniture brand making handmade rustic dining tables in Workington. You’ll build tables end to end - from prepping timber to final sanding - working from cut lists and job sheets to a high standard of finish.
What you’ll do
- Cut, prep, glue and biscuit-joint and sash clamp solid Scandinavian redwood pine tops
- Rout and fit angle iron battens into table bases
- Sand and prepare surfaces for wax and oil finishes
- Run the machinery: chop saws, planer thicknessers, table saws, cordless and pneumatic tools
- Work from detailed cut lists, drawings and job sheets to deadline
- Keep a clean, safe, well-organised work area
What we’re looking for
- Solid joinery or carpentry experience, ideally workshop-based
- Confident across industrial woodworking machinery and power tools
- Reliable, self-motivated, with high attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK
Pay & Benefits
- 40 hour contract - £34,125 OTE with an earnings scale £39,741
- 45 hour contract (optional) - £38,676 OTE with an earnings scale to £44,292.
- Nothing is discretionary; full pay structure explained at interview.

Terms
- 3-month probationary period (1-week notice); 1-month notice thereafter
