Care and Support Worker
Location: Tulip Gardens, Selly Oak B29
Hours: 21-hours per week
Salary: £13,970 per annum
New Outlook has been providing housing and care services to people with sensory impairment across the West Midlands for over 170 years.
Tulip Gardens is a CQC registered service that provides 24-hour specialist care and support to vulnerable adults aged 18-65 with a sensory impairment, as well as other physical and learning disabilities.
A position has opened for an experienced Care & Support Worker. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a positive, can-do attitude, who can build effective relationships with the people we support, their families, and colleagues.
You should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and should demonstrate a caring, compassionate nature alongside a strong work ethic. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team while also being confident and capable when lone working. The ability to remain flexible, proactive, and person-centred in your approach is essential.
You must have at least 2 year’s previous experience in a similar care & support worker role. Duties include providing personal care, administering medication, support with person-centred planning, maintaining records and documentation, assisting with activities/shopping, support with meal preparation, and domestic tasks where required.
Tulip Gardens has a 7-day rolling rota; and you will be required to work shift times 8am-3pm, and 3pm-10pm, that will cover weekdays and weekends, and Bank Holidays where appropriate.
You must be able to work 21 hours per week without visa restrictions, and you will be required to provide enhanced DBS clearance, together with evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
