Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently and thoroughly
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
- Ensuring the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen
- Supporting the organisation of stock and ingredients to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety throughout the kitchen area
- Supporting serving staff during busy service periods when required
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards
- Loading and unloading of vans
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety
- Flexibility to work shifts as scheduled, including weekends if required
- A positive approach to teamwork and willingness to learn new skills
