A new luxury boutique townhouse hotel in Edinburgh is seeking a warm, polished and guest-focused Front of House Host to join the team at launch stage.
This is a varied guest-facing role within an intimate, design-led property offering individually styled bedrooms and suites, elegant public spaces, a private garden, orangery breakfast service and a licensed bar. The experience is closer to a private residence than a traditional hotel, with a strong focus on discretion, calm service and exceptional attention to detail.
The property will welcome discerning guests, who require complete privacy. The successful candidate must understand the importance of confidentiality, quiet professionalism and service that feels personal without ever becoming intrusive.
The Role
As Front of House Host, you will support the guest journey from arrival to departure. This will include welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, supporting concierge requests, helping deliver breakfast and bar service, maintaining public areas and ensuring the house always feels calm, elegant and beautifully presented.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in small details and has a natural instinct for looking after people.

- Assist with luggage, porterage and room orientation.
- Support guest requests including taxis, restaurant bookings, local recommendations and concierge arrangements.
- Help deliver a calm and well-presented continental breakfast service.

- Maintain excellent presentation across the lounge, orangery, garden and public areas.
- Replenish guest amenities, water, magazines and other guest-facing items.
- Assist with arrivals, departures, room checks and guest errands.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond discreetly and efficiently.
- Report maintenance, cleaning or presentation issues to the House Manager or Duty Manager.
- Uphold health, safety, food hygiene, licensing and confidentiality standards at all times.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, café, bar, private members’ club, serviced residence or other guest-facing hospitality environment.
You will be:
- Warm, professional and naturally hospitable.
- Calm, discreet and well presented.
- Confident speaking with guests.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working across different parts of the operation.
- Able to carry luggage and support practical guest needs.
- Organised, tidy and proactive.
- Committed to high standards of service and presentation.
Experience in luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, premium restaurants, private houses or concierge-style environments would be advantageous, but the right attitude, judgement and willingness to learn are just as important.
