About the Role
We are seeking a caring, committed, and adaptable Learning Assistant to support our innovative Reimagine Programme. This role is ideal for someone passionate about alternative approaches to education, student wellbeing, and relationship-based practice.
This is not a conventional classroom-based role. The Reimagine Programme delivers highly personalised 1:1 and small group learning within the local community, using real-world experiences and positive relationships to help young people re-engage with education.
You will primarily work out in the community with students, supporting learning through practical, creative, and interest-led activities. Sessions may take place in outdoor spaces, cafés, leisure facilities, community venues, workplaces, activity centres, or other local settings that support engagement and personal development.
This role is ideal for professionals who want to work differently — prioritising relationships, engagement, and meaningful progress over traditional classroom models.
A full driving licence and access to a car are essential for this role.
We can offer flexible working between 3-5 days per week during term time, with opportunities for additional work within the wider school provision.
Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 pro rata (term time only), dependent on experience, qualifications, and days worked.
We actively support staff progression through qualifications, training, and continued professional development, with clear opportunities to progress within our Reimagine Programme team.
The Reimagine Programme operates across Buckinghamshire, with staff working within local communities to support young people through highly personalised provision. We welcome conversations with applicants interested in learning more about how the role could work within their local area.
Key Responsibilities-
Deliver engaging 1:1 and small group support sessions within community settings

Build positive, consistent relationships with young people who may struggle in traditional education environments

Support the delivery of personalised learning and engagement programmes tailored to individual student needs and interests

Promote confidence, independence, communication, emotional regulation, and positive wellbeing

Support students with social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning needs

Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress and adapt provision

Accurately record session outcomes, progress, and safeguarding concerns where appropriate

Contribute to the ongoing development of the Reimagine Programme
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting, mentoring, coaching, or working with young people

Genuinely cares about young people and is committed to building positive, consistent relationships with them

Is resilient, patient, and prepared to stick with young people through challenges rather than giving up when things become difficult

Understands that progress can take time and is able to celebrate small steps as well as big achievements

Demonstrates creativity, adaptability, and initiative in supporting engagement and learning

Is confident working independently within community environments

Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with young people, families, and professionals

Understands trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches to supporting students

Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeing

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle
