Overview
Join us in our state of the art new workshop as an HGV Technician , you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of HGVs to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy vehicles, including engine work, brake systems, suspension, and transmission components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, fabrication techniques, and soldering skills to complete repairs accurately and efficiently
- Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems and implement effective solutions
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used in compliance with company standards
- Support equipment repair tasks involving heavy lifting and mechanical assembly to ensure operational readiness
Requirements
- Proven experience working with heavy machinery or commercial vehicles, with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
- Knowledge of vehicle systems including brakes, engines, transmissions, electrical wiring, and hydraulics
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when necessary
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently
