We are looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Manager/Supervisor to take full ownership of our transport operations and ensure absolute compliance with our O Licence obligations. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for the effective delivery of all transport‑related activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities Compliance & Fleet Management
- Ensure full O Licence compliance across all transport operations.
- Ensure all vehicles operate in line with current legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of inspections, servicing, repairs, and compliance documentation.
- Manage drivers’ hours and daily/weekly compliance requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all vehicle servicing and maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Liaise with authorities regarding roadside checks, audits, and compliance matters.
- Conduct accident investigations and prepare formal reports.
Operational Management
- Develop and implement effective transport policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor fleet performance, fuel usage, maintenance costs, and ensure operations remain within budget.
- Produce daily and weekly KPI and performance reports.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to anticipate operational issues and drive efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support smooth operational delivery.
People Management
- Monitor driver behaviour, performance, and adherence to company standards.
- Lead disciplinary processes for both drivers and office-based staff where required.
- Manage staffing levels, including absence, sickness, and holiday planning, to ensure adequate cover across all shifts.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple sites to support consistent standards.
Insurance & Documentation
- Communicate with insurance brokers to arrange and maintain appropriate vehicle and driver cover.
- Assist with drafting and implementing policies and documentation relevant to fleet operations.
Requirements
- International CPC qualification
- Proven track record managing transport operations within similar warehouse and logistics environments.
- Previous O Licence holder with experience managing fleets of 20+ mixed vehicles.
- Ability to work across multiple locations as operational needs require.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
Additional Information
- Role based primarily in Waddington, with travel to additional sites as needed.

Pay: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
