The Role
As a 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Technician, you will deliver remote, telephone, and hands-on desktop support across a wide range of client environments. Working alongside senior team members and vendor partners, you will resolve day-to-day issues while gaining valuable exposure to network infrastructure and IT project implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Support: Provide efficient 1st and 2nd line support via phone, email, remote session, and on-site visits.
- Ticketing & Documentation: Log all actions, track progress, and update technical configuration documentation within our internal ticketing platform.
- Deployment & Maintenance: Set up, configure, and deploy PCs, laptops, network devices, and peripherals. Carry out routine patch management and performance optimization.
- Backup Management: Monitor, test, and maintain client data backup systems and recovery routines.
- Project Assisting: Support senior engineers with solution delivery, migrations, and hardware rollouts.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year’s experience in an IT support, service desk, or MSP role (preferred).
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Practical experience administering Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Exchange Online, and SharePoint/Teams.
- Operating Systems: Strong understanding of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server administration. Familiarity with macOS and iOS is beneficial.
- Networking & Security: Solid knowledge of core networking (DHCP, DNS, IP routing) and basic security practices (firewalls, endpoint antivirus).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English with a client-focused, problem-solving mindset.
- Licence: Full UK driving licence required (a company vehicle is available for client site visits; personal car preferred for commuting).
Working Hours & Benefits
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional scheduled out-of-hours or weekend tasks are agreed upon in advance and compensated with paid overtime or Time Off in Lieu (TOIL).
