The Opportunity
Due to our successful appointment to a new framework, we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Infrastructure – Water South team, supporting wastewater projects for South West Water across Devon.
Working as part of our project delivery team, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and supporting the commissioning of mechanical, electrical and process systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and ready for successful handover to our client. Key Duties
- Support the planning, preparation and delivery of commissioning activities, including commissioning procedures, plans and handover documentation.
- Review designs, specifications and subcontractor documentation to identify commissioning risks and ensure installations are ready for testing and handover.
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and client representatives, attending commissioning meetings and coordinating site activities.
- Monitor commissioning progress, produce regular reports, organise client witnessing, sampling and training, and assist with compiling O&M manuals.
- Support the resolution of commissioning and snagging issues through project completion and the defects liability period.
About You
You will be a proactive and organised individual with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions within the water sector.
You will bring:
- Experience or knowledge of commissioning within the wastewater or wider water industry.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across project teams.
- Good IT skills and a methodical approach to planning and documentation.
- SMSTS and CSCS certification, with a willingness to travel to sites across the region.
- A relevant engineering qualification is desirable.
