Role Overview
As a Student Research Analyst, you will operate in a agile squad of 2–4 analysts. Your mission is to execute targeted market research, consumer preference surveys, or competitive intelligence mapping for a specific corporate client. Each project is short-term, intensive, and executed under the dual guidance of an industry mentor and a project coordinator.
Structured Operational Phases & Responsibilities
To ensure project velocity, responsibilities are divided into three execution milestones:
Phase 1: Ingestion & Methodology Setup
- Brief Analysis: Deconstruct the partner company’s business problem into core research objectives.
- Framework Design: Develop structured survey instruments, quantitative questionnaires, and secondary research matrices.
- Protocol Alignment: Align the tracking methodology with standard data ethics and compliance rules.
Phase 2: Execution & Data Scrubbing
- Primary Data Collection: Deploy digital surveys and conduct localized target group sampling (e.g., consumer cohort mapping).
- Secondary Intelligence: Extract competitor data, pricing models, and market positioning reports.
- Data Sanitization: Aggregate, clean, and structure raw data inputs into standardized sheets, ensuring zero hardcoded anomalies or broken data sets.
Phase 3: Synthesis & Stakeholder Presentation
- Insight Generation: Transform data distributions into clear business insights.
- Report Compilation: Author a professional, structured PDF report featuring visual data models and strategic recommendations.
- Client Pitch: Present the final strategic deck to company stakeholders during a formal close-out meeting.
Required Operational Tech Stack
Selected analysts are expected to utilize professional tools to maintain delivery standards:
- Data & Analytics: Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel (Advanced filtering, pivot tables, dynamic charts).
- Research & Citation: Google Scholar, Zotero, or Mendeley for rigorous source tracking.
- Collaboration: Slack/Teams for syncs; Google Workspace for dynamic document updates.
Pay: £15.00-£25.00 per hour
