Overview
We are seeking a part time Laundry Assistant to join our team.
This role is mainly afternoons/early evenings Monday-Friday. Exact shift times can be discussed at interview stage.
As part of the role you will provide effective laundry service that meets the needs of our resident along with the high standard expected in our care home, whilst maintaining hygiene and infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- To provide high quality laundry service for all our residents personal clothing and items, adhering to the correct fabric care guidelines, as well as all linen for the home.
- To comply with all statutory and legal requirements such as COSHH, Health & Safety, Infection Control and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home.
- To ensure that the laundry is cleaned to a high standard in compliance with specific cleaning guidelines to effectively meet our residents and the homes needs.
- Participate in training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- To respect and maintain confidentiality of residents personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
- To check that all residents' personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair, and returned to the correct residents in a timely manner after each laundry session.
- To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe, working order, promptly reporting any faults to both the care taker and the home manager.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in similar setting
- Understanding of COSHH
- Basic sewing skills
- Good communication skills, friendly and helpful.
