THE ROLE
Witch Group is looking for reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our growing Logistics Team at our Altham headquarters. (near Accrington and Padiham)
This is a local multi-drop delivery role, delivering carpets, flooring and related products to our trade customers. You'll drive 18–26 tonne curtain-sided vehicles, with some van driving required for smaller loads.
No weekend working – Monday to Friday only.
The role involves regular heavy manual handling, including the handling and delivery of carpets and flooring, so applicants must be comfortable with the physical nature of the job.
Depending on the position and agreed hours, drivers can expect approximately 40–50 hours per week for full-time roles. Part-time opportunities are also available, and can be discussed in the interview..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete local and regional multi-drop deliveries to trade customers
- Drive 18–26 tonne curtain-sided Class 2 vehicles
- Drive company vans when required for smaller deliveries
- Load, unload and safely handle carpets, flooring and associated products
- Complete deliveries accurately and on schedule
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Maintain delivery paperwork and documentation
- Follow all road safety, driver hours and company procedures
- Provide a professional and friendly service to customers
- Keep vehicles clean and well maintained
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- Full Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Experience driving curtain-sided Class 2 vehicles
- Minimum 2 years' Class 2 driving experience advantageous
- Good knowledge of local areas and UK roads
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual and flexible
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy manual handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of the Logistics Team
