Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our caring team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals, assisting with food service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Your enthusiasm and culinary skills will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where residents feel valued and cared for.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards
- Assist with food presentation and serving to residents in a friendly, professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Support meal planning and portion control to meet nutritional guidelines
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service during meal times
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen work, preferably within a care or restaurant setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards residents and team members
- Previous experience in meal preparation or culinary roles is highly desirable
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food service and safety regulations
