About the Role
Batirici Construction and Infrastructure Services is looking for an Information Governance Officer to support the effective management, security, and governance of organisational information. The successful candidate will help ensure information is handled appropriately, securely, and in accordance with relevant UK legislation, policies, and industry standards.
Job Title: Information Governance Officer
English Job Meaning: Officer responsible for managing, protecting, and ensuring the proper use of organisational information and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of information governance policies and procedures.
- Ensure organisational information is managed securely and appropriately throughout its lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance with UK data protection and information governance requirements.
- Assist with data protection impact assessments and information risk assessments.
- Maintain information asset registers, records, policies, and governance documentation.
- Support the management and investigation of information security and data protection incidents.
- Assist with responding to information requests, including data subject access requests where applicable.
- Provide guidance to staff on data protection, confidentiality, records management, and information security.
- Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to identify information governance risks.
- Support retention, disposal, and records management processes.
- Work with internal teams to improve information-handling practices and controls.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for management regarding information governance performance and risks.
- Keep up to date with changes to UK data protection, privacy, and information governance requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in information governance, data protection, compliance, records management, or a related role.
- Good understanding of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and information governance principles.
- Strong knowledge of confidentiality, information security, records management, and data handling practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, or compliance reviews is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and information management systems.
- Relevant qualification in Information Governance, Data Protection, Information Management, Compliance, or a related field is desirable.
Pay: £2,500.00-£2,800.00 per month
