Drill Service (Horley) Limited has been supplying and regrinding precision cutting tools since 1961. Based in Horley, Surrey, we serve customers across aerospace, automotive, medical, and general manufacturing. We are the official UK distributor for Xebec deburring technology and stock a wide range of drills, reamers, milling cutters, threading tools, and specialist tooling.
We are a close-knit, experienced team with a strong reputation for technical knowledge, fast turnaround, and excellent customer service. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Storeperson to join us.
The Role
Working at the heart of our distribution operation, you will be responsible for the accurate receipt, picking, packing, and despatch of cutting tool orders. You will also support goods-in processes, stock location management, and general stores housekeeping. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well in a team, and enjoys a varied day.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently to meet daily dispatch deadlines
- Receiving and booking in incoming deliveries; checking quantities and condition against purchase orders
- Putting away stock to the correct bin locations and maintaining location accuracy
- Processing returns and exchanges in line with company procedures
- Assisting with cycle counts and periodic stock takes
- Keeping the stores area clean, tidy, and well organised at all times
- Operating barcode scanning equipment and updating records on the company stock system
- Liaising with the sales and purchasing teams on order queries, shortages, or discrepancies
- Supporting the despatch of regrinding and workshop orders as required
- Assisting with any general stores and warehouse duties as directed

- Comfortable using computers
- Clear communication skills; able to liaise confidently with colleagues and suppliers
- Physically fit; able to lift and handle stock in line with manual handling guidelines
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Desirable:
- Experience with an ERP or stock management system
- Familiarity with Royal Mail or courier booking systems
- Background in an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial supplies environment
