Job Purpose
As Compliance Manager, you will lead and oversee all compliance activities across our building services operations for the Manchester Arndale shopping centre contract, ensuring our facilities hard services meet all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant, and high-performing environments for our clients by developing robust compliance processes, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement.
Working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors, management, you will ensure compliance across key disciplines including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, water hygiene, gas, asbestos, and other critical building systems. You will provide expert guidance, manage audits and inspections, mitigate compliance risks, and promote a strong culture of safety, governance, and operational excellence throughout the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall building compliance
- Maintain accurate compliance records, databases, and electronic filing systems using Vantify Risk
- Monitor and update compliance trackers for statutory inspections, certifications, and maintenance activities.
- Schedule and coordinate compliance inspections, audits, servicing, and contractor visits.
- Ensure compliance documentation, including certificates and reports, is received, reviewed, and stored appropriately.
- Prepare reports, performance dashboards, and compliance data for management meetings.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, site managers, and internal departments to coordinate compliance works.
- Monitor contract documentation, insurance certificates, and accreditation records.
- Track corrective actions arising from audits and inspections, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Support in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
- Respond to compliance-related enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out other duties as required to support the Facilities Management team.
