Are you ready to take the lead in delivering high quality highways maintenance across North Yorkshire? NY Highways is looking for a skilled Ganger to join our dedicated team in Boroughbridge.
As a Ganger, you’ll play a key role in improving infrastructure across towns, villages and rural communities. You’ll lead a team, manage projects and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

About the Role
As a Ganger, you’ll lead a team of at least four operatives, delivering maintenance and construction works in Boroughbridge and surrounding areas. From kerb installation and drainage repairs to footway construction and traffic management, your work will directly impact the safety and quality of our roads in the local community.
You’ll also:
- Ensure works are completed to specification and on schedule
- Manage supply chain partners and coordinate site activities
- Operate equipment and carry out routine and cyclical maintenance
- Participate in out-of-hours call-outs for emergencies and winter maintenance
This is a physically active, outdoor role requiring a good level of fitness. Full PPE and outdoor clothing will be provided.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Proven experience leading and directing a team
Desirable (training provided if needed):
- Banksman, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Emergency First Aid, Safe Dig
- Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
