What do I have to do?
The main duties of the job involve caring for me. I’m a female primary specialist at an edtech organisation, confined to a wheelchair. I work from home but also attend work events across the country. Support needed includes personal care, turning at night, driving me (desirable) to and from and accompanying me at social and work events, basic cooking, housekeeping and medicine administration.
What days do I work?
I have a team of carers who work a shift system and live-in while on shift.
The shift I currently require covering is Thursday 7pm to Saturday 1pm. This compresses full time hours into a 2 day shift and the rest of your week is free!
For each shift payment is £567.00 gross. I sort out tax, National Insurance and pension contributions. Wages are currently paid on a weekly basis, one week in arrears.
Will I enjoy working there?
Carers stay with me for a number of years. There are times when you will be very busy but there are also times when I need you to be on call only. The carer accommodation is very comfortable. All training will be provided.
