Simmal Ltd is a family-run aluminium and engineering materials stockholding and manufacturing business based in Preston. We supply products to manufacturing companies across the UK and Europe.
We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Unloading supplier delivery vehicles
- Putting stock away in designated warehouse locations
- Processing materials using machinery (e.g. saws, guillotine, milling machines etc.)
- Cleaning, inspecting and packing products
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Loading company and customer vehicles
- Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment
- Occasional driving of a 3.5T LGV flatbed (van-style) vehicle
The role involves a mix of forklift operation, use of lifting equipment, and regular manual handling as part of day-to-day warehouse activities.
Requirements:
- Polite and professional attitude
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Good time management skills
- Full, clean driving licence
Previous warehouse experience is not essential, as full training will be provided, although it would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
- GCSE grades 9-3 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Desirable (but not essential):
- Counterbalance and reach forklift truck experience
