Health Care Assistant - Adult Learning Disability

We are seeking dedicated Health Care Assistants (HCA) and Support Workers to provide specialised care for a young adult client with Down syndrome who is mute, uses a wheelchair, and is blind. Join our team to make a significant impact on his life and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised care, including assistance with mobility & daily activities.
- Administer precscribed medications and maintain accurate records.
- Develop, assess and follow personalised care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals & family members.
- Schedule and accompany the client to medical appointments and therapies.
- Organise healthcare services, respecting the client's preferences.
- Establish protocols to ensure safety & manage risks.
- Develop personalised meal plans based on dietary requirements.
- Assist during mealtimes as needed.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days a week (specific days to be discussed)
Qualifications:
- Based in the UK with a valid work visa.
- Minimum 3 years of caregiving experience, specifically with Down syndrome.
- Certifications in UK Care Standards preferred.
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferred)
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate, empathetic, & patient towards individuals with disabilities.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
- Patience and understanding in challenging situations
- Skills in care and risk assessments and writing care and support plans
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
