Jets Nursery are looking for a SEN support worker. This position is to work alongside other staff in the room to provide additional support for a child with Special educational needs. The hours are 15 hours per week, term time on a Monday and Friday. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children with additional needs and someone who has at least a level two childcare qualification and/or experience in Early Years.
Your main roles and responsibilities will be:
- To support the child on a daily basis, encouraging them to follow our routine
- Plan and implement activities alongside the key person/SENCO
- Carry out one to one and small group work on a daily basis
- Produce observations and have a good knowledge of child development
- To meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence
- To support the nursery’s commitment on safeguarding children in all aspects of the nursery service
- To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports for parents and other professionals on children’s achievements, progress and related matters
- To be proactive on the continuation of your own learning to improve the outcomes for children and their families
- To attend meetings as required and participate in training opportunities and performance development
