Sous Chef – DripThe Role
We’re looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join the team at Drip.
Drip is all about great food, specialty coffee and proper hospitality without taking ourselves too seriously. Brunch is a huge part of what we do, with a menu focused on quality ingredients, big flavours and dishes that people actually want to come back for.
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with our Head Chef to run a busy, organised and creative kitchen. You’ll be hands-on during service, help lead the kitchen team and play an important role in keeping our food consistently at the standard we expect.
We’re looking for someone who cares about the details, works well under pressure and wants to be part of an ambitious independent hospitality brand that’s continuing to grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Taking responsibility and leading the kitchen when the Head Chef isn't there
- Delivering consistently high-quality food across every service
- Keeping service organised, fast and calm — particularly during busy brunch periods
- Helping maintain and develop Drip's food standards and presentation
- Leading by example and creating a positive kitchen culture
- Training and developing junior members of the kitchen team
- Managing prep levels and making sure the kitchen is ready for service
- Monitoring stock, ordering and helping control food costs
- Reducing waste and maintaining sensible portion control
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and HACCP standards
- Working closely with our front-of-house team to make sure the whole customer experience is right
- Bringing ideas to the table for new dishes, specials and menu development
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Experience working in a busy, quality-focused kitchen
- A strong understanding of brunch and modern casual dining
- Excellent organisation and ability to work at pace
- High standards when it comes to food quality and presentation
- Good understanding of food safety, allergens and kitchen hygiene
- Confidence leading and motivating a team
- Strong communication skills
- Someone reliable, positive and willing to take ownership
- A genuine interest in food and developing new ideas
Why Drip?
This isn't about producing the same menu forever.
Drip is a young, independent and growing hospitality brand, and we want people in the kitchen who want to grow with it.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside our Head Chef, contribute to menu development and help shape where we take the food offering next.
We want to build a kitchen team that is professional without being stuffy, ambitious without the ego, and serious about producing great food.
If you're passionate about food, enjoy the energy of a busy service and want to be part of what we're building at Drip, we'd love to hear from you.
