Job Summary
The position would be ideal for someone leaving school or seeking to start their career. In this fast-paced role, you will provide support to our barristers and clerking colleagues to help ensure the smooth running of Chambers. The role is an excellent opportunity to develop and learn essential skills.
What you will do
· Day-to-day diary management.
· Deal with telephone and email enquiries.
· Deal with incoming post.
· Take bookings for members of chambers and advising on suitable counsel when required.
· Log papers onto our Lex diary system and ensure members of Chambers have all the papers in good time.
· Chase instructions and manage the diary for the next day, week and month.
· Utilise Courtserve to ensure all hearings for the next day are listed and have a Judge. Resolve any issues if a case is not listed.
· Quote and negotiate fees.
· Liaise with the court and solicitors to fix hearings on cases where necessary.
· Invoice for work done.
· Chase aged debt.
· Assist with the administration of Chambers as and when necessary/appropriate.
· Cover our Chelmsford and Norwich centres when required.
What you will bring
· Excellent communication skills.
· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good organisation skills, and the ability to prioritise workload.
· Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Attention to detail.
· A willingness to learn and a proactive approach to working in a team.
Pay: £19,500.00-£22,500.00 per year
