CNC Machinist + £36,459 + Rotating 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am + Permanent role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy and technically focused manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong CNC machining experience who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components and is confident working from technical drawings and CNC programmes.
The CNC Machinist role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting, operating and maintaining CNC machinery, ensuring products are manufactured accurately, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
You will work across a rotating three-shift pattern of 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm and 10pm–6am, playing an important role in maintaining production output and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and monitor CNC machinery to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and CNC machine programmes.
- Configure and calibrate machines to ensure optimum performance.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments where required to maintain accuracy.
- Read, understand and make appropriate edits to CNC programmes.
- Inspect tooling and inserts to ensure they are being used effectively and efficiently.
- Complete first-off inspection reports for each new job.
- Record non-conforming products accurately on the company system and support resolution where required.
- Set gauges in accordance with drawing requirements and ensure accurate measurements are taken.
- Check that all measuring equipment is correctly calibrated before use.
- Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
- Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Work in accordance with all company health & safety procedures.
- Maintain the required quality standards and follow all operational procedures.
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience working within a CNC machining environment.
- Experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
- The ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
- The ability to understand and interpret CNC machine programmes.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling and inserts.
- Experience using gauges and precision measuring equipment.
- A good understanding of quality control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing work to a high standard.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make machining adjustments when required.
- A strong commitment to health & safety and working within established procedures.
