Full-time (8:30am – 5:00pm with 1 hour for lunch or 9:00am – 5:00pm with 30 mins lunch)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join our highly driven and dynamic Finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. The Credit Controller’s primary responsibility is to chase monies on the ledger of over 300 B2B customers whilst owning the set-up of new customers and all associated administration. In this role, you should be ambitious, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills to build rapport and manage customer accounts effectively. Prioritizing workloads, reducing debtor days, and maintaining high standards of accuracy under pressure are at the forefront of the role.
The Credit Controller will work very closely with all facets of the organisation including:
- The Credit Control Manager & Financial Controller
- The Wider Finance & Accounts Team
- Commercial & Regional Operations Functions

What candidate are we looking for?
- An ambitious professional with a strong willingness to learn, high work ethic, and clear, logical thinking
- Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner
- Strong people skills with the ability to build rapport and professional relationships with customers
- A sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work calmly under pressure
- Strong multi-tasker with high attention to detail and good organizational/administration skills
- Good PC skills, particularly proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Experience within a similar credit control role from an accounts or office environment is advantageous but not essential
The following additional skills would be an advantage:
- Previous experience handling high-volume B2B debtor chasing and query resolution
- Familiarity with credit checking tools, customer portals, and shared drive management
- Experience handling consolidated invoicing or advanced rental allocations
What will be your duties?
- Chasing monies on the ledger of over 300 B2B customers (split between two Credit Controllers) via telephone, letters, and email
- Posting daily receipts and allocating them accurately according to customer remittances
- Raising credit notes once authorized at Director level and ensuring debtor days are reduced within set timescales
- Performing credit checks and setting up new customers on the system upon authorization
- Monitoring notifications from credit reporters and acting swiftly on any adverse information
- Sending out monthly statements, copy invoices, daily email invoices, and chasing Purchase Order (PO) numbers
- Updating daily notes on a working spreadsheet and maintaining organized files on the shared drive
- Manually raising monthly consolidated invoices, advanced rental charges, and managing/uploading invoices to customer portals
- Ensuring payments are settled prior to delivery of new contract hire vehicles and verifying standing orders for ongoing charges
- Attending monthly Credit Control meetings with the Credit Control Manager and Financial Controller
- Banking cheques and assisting with ad-hoc tasks across the wider Finance team (e.g., raising sales invoices, processing purchase invoices)
