Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure the efficient movement of goods. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective category management strategies to optimise procurement and inventory levels.
- Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate freight movements, ensuring timely delivery whilst controlling costs.
- Manage warehouse operations using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400, ensuring accurate stock control and order fulfilment.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline supply chain operations and improve service levels.
- Analyse data related to logistics performance metrics to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Supervise materials handling activities, including forklift operations, picking & packing, and inventory replenishment.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency across all logistics functions.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained within warehousing and transportation environments.
- Maintain effective communication across departments to facilitate seamless supply chain operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics management or supply chain roles, preferably within warehousing or distribution environments.
- Strong knowledge of category management, process optimisation, and supply chain best practices.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400, and data analysis tools.
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; relevant certifications are desirable.
- Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, shipping & receiving procedures, and compliance standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making purposes.
- Effective leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and process enhancement.
