We are looking for an enthusiastic self employed level 2 swim teacher to join our growing swim school in the South Tyneside area.
Immediate start date available for a suitable candidate.
Main Duties:
- To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans Integration of the Learn to Swim Framework and programme reward schemes into classes
- Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
- Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
- Identify participants abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
- Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
- Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
- Create a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children
- Set ground rules for each session
- Evaluate sessions and give feedback
- Regularly assess each participants ability and progress and arrange for the award of the appropriate certificates using our online portal

Lessons are taught both in and out of the water.
Requirements are
1. A valid STA / ASA / Swim England level 2 award.
2. A valid lifesaving qualification
4. This post will require an enhanced DBS check.
Hours available - weekday evenings and Saturday daytime, term time only with optional summer teaching.
A Baby & Preschool qualification would be desirable and would open up the possibility of extra daytime hours.

- swim teaching: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Lifesaving Qualification (required)
- Swim teacher qualification (either STA or Swim England) (required)
