Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including school buses, shuttle buses, and paratransit vans to transport children, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and proper maintenance, addressing any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols to guarantee secure transportation at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to ensure smooth coordination and address any special needs or concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with loading and unloading children safely, ensuring proper supervision during transit.
- Complete all necessary documentation such as trip logs, maintenance reports, and incident reports accurately and promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with paratransit services or motor coach operations is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Prior customer service experience demonstrating patience, professionalism, and reliability.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL for school bus or motor coach).
