Café Manager – City Centre Location
Full-Time, 35.5 hours per week
Starting early–mid October
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Café Manager to lead our city centre café team. This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a busy environment, and knows how to inspire and support a team. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and ensure exceptional customer service while keeping the café running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, support, and motivate the team to deliver excellent hospitality.
- Manage staff rotas, training, and performance.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health, and safety.
- Handle stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Work with management to develop menus, seasonal specials, and events.
- Drive sales and maintain profitability while managing costs.
- Provide outstanding customer service and resolve issues effectively.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing a café or similar hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and support staff.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and compliance.
- Financial awareness, including managing budgets, stock, and costs.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stay calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Working Hours & Benefits
- 35.5 hours per week over 5 days (Monday–Saturday).
- Closed every Sunday.
- Shift patterns:
- Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 9am – 5pm
- Thurs: 9am – 7pm
- Sat: 9am – 2pm (early finish!)
