Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our FM business to financially control mechanical projects up to £3m. In this vital role, you will oversee cost management throughout the lifecycle of projects, ensuring financial efficiency and project success. Your expertise will help control costs, manage budgets, and support procurement processes, all while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor project expenditures continuously, comparing actual costs against budgets to identify variances early.
- Implement effective cost control measures to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to negotiate contracts and procurement agreements.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure adherence to financial plans.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on financial status, forecasts, and risk assessments for project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal regulations, and industry standards related to cost management.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar cost management role within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
- Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software and project management tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement solutions promptly.
- Strong communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration across diverse teams.
