Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance Person to join our dynamic team at Euroclydon Nursing Home. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities through hands-on maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose problems.
- Conduct welding repairs as needed to fix or reinforce structural components.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems and machinery.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during repair projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference.
- Collaborate with other departments to address specific maintenance needs and improve overall facility operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal requests for repairs or assistance.
- Lead safety initiatives by adhering to OSHA standards and promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance roles with strong mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals with confidence.
- Skilled in welding techniques and familiar with using welding equipment safely.
- Strong supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance projects or teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude towards internal clients.
- Knowledge of safety regulations such as OSHA standards; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
