This is an exciting opportunity to join the First Responder Department (FRD) as an Associate Community Resuscitation Trainer (ACRT).
In this role, you will help promote and deliver the Trust’s Volunteer and London Lifesaver Strategy, aimed at reducing health inequalities and improving survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
You will be supported to develop into a London Lifesaver Trainer, working alongside experienced Community Resuscitation Trainers (CRTs). You will play a key role in supporting Community First Responders, Emergency Responders, Heart Starters campaign, and schools programme.
ACRTs work closely with CRTs to deliver training sessions and events in a variety of settings, including commercial organisations, sports centres, and community venues. You will deliver engaging sessions to a wide range of audiences, including large groups, using a variety of presentation methods in line with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
You will also support the delivery of accredited awards, promote best practice, and uphold the Trust’s Values and Behaviours, ensuring high standards are maintained across all training activities.
Whilst this is a non-frontline clinical role as part of your development, if required, you will be supported to complete an accredited Level 3 Award First Responder on Scene: Ambulance Service Community Responders course.
Applicants need to hold a full, valid UK driving licence and be able to move and handle training equipment and meet the job description role specification.
The FRD sits within the Clinical Directorate and is based at HQ. While ACRTs are aligned to a specific sector, this role requires travel across London.
The Associate Community Resuscitation Trainer (ACRT) will be responsible for teaching a number of high-quality lifesaving programmes to the public across London.
They will drive the development of community resuscitation, heart health and public access defibrillation initiatives across the capital to maximise impact in community resuscitation and increase the chances of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest. The ACRT will deliver training across all our current London Lifesaving programs including leading on projects.
The ACRT will work closely with all our volunteers supporting, training and developing CPD strategies.
The ACRT will actively promote the work of the First Responder Department and play a major role in promoting the LAS to external agencies.
Post holders will be involved in seeking out new work, planning and implementing new training courses and initiatives.
The ACRT will be involved in all areas of work pertaining to the trusts strategy in improving out of hospital cardiac arrest survival.
