Duties
- Install, repair, and replace roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, tiles, and membranes with precision and attention to detail
- Inspect roofs for damage or wear, diagnosing issues accurately to determine necessary repairs or replacements
- Measure roof areas and prepare materials efficiently to optimize project timelines and minimize waste
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and install roofing components
- Collaborate with team members on scaffolding setup, safety protocols, and project planning to ensure smooth workflow
- Perform related construction tasks including carpentry, masonry work for chimneys or parapets, and minor plumbing or electrical adjustments as needed for roofing systems
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal after each project phase
Skills
- Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or maintenance with a strong understanding of various roofing systems
- Skilled in carpentry, masonry, welding, plumbing, electrical work, and construction painting to support comprehensive project needs
- Proficient with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, screwdrivers; power tools including drills, saws, nail guns; and fabrication equipment
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to working at heights and handling heavy materials
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to identify issues early and implement effective solutions
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when required
