About the role
At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. As part of our work at Hinkley Point C, we're looking for skilled Electricians to join our growing team and play a vital role in the construction of the UK's next generation of low-carbon energy infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
- Install, maintain and repair electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, circuit breakers and control systems.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults using specialist testing equipment and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct testing and inspection of electrical installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Carry out electrical wiring activities in accordance with current regulations and codes.
- Gland and terminate power and control cables to a high standard.
- Use electrical testing equipment to assess voltage, current, resistance and other performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance activities.
- Support junior electricians and apprentices through knowledge sharing and mentoring
Who we're looking for
- ECS Card (Industrial or Approved Electrician).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Level 3 Installation Electrician Apprenticeship Standard or equivalent Electrical Installation Apprenticeship (FICA/AM2).
- Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS Security Clearance
- Proven experience working as an Industrial Electrician within construction, infrastructure or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance and fault-finding activities.
- Experience working safely to electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Nuclear industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
