Salary: NJC Scale 6, pts 18-22, £12,785 to £13,661 per annum actual
Hours: 15 hours per week and 52 weeks per year. Hours to be worked M to F

We are seeking a highly motivated Health & Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations across the Academy and our two sites. Working closely with the Academy Estates Manager, this is a pivotal role ensuring our campuses provide safe, secure, and inspiring environments for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all relevant Health & Safety legislation and requirements relevant to the post.
· Designing and leading a planned Health & Safety Inspection Programme.
· Maintaining a log of Health & Safety concerns raised and action taken.
· Keeping the Principal and Finance Director informed of Health & Safety concerns and recommending action where necessary.
· Producing a draft Health & Safety Action Plan and termly reports on progress to the Finance Director.
· Designing and leading risk assessment procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
· Designing and leading Health & Safety training programmes in liaison with Senior Leadership Team.
· Responsible for ensuring emergency procedures are current and timely, in co-operation with Senior Leadership Team, e.g. evacuation procedures.
About You
- Proven track record of working within a health and safety role, ideally within an educational or public sector setting.
- Expert knowledge of health and safety legislation, safeguarding requirements, and statutory compliance relevant to schools.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
- A relevant health & safety / compliance management qualification, e.g. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
