Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, metal, and other materials. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on various projects. The Joiner will play a vital part in delivering high-quality craftsmanship across commercial and residential settings.
Duties
- Must have a driving license.
- Own transport is preferred.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Installing fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinetry, roofing components, and mouldings.
- Performing heavy lifting of materials and components safely to ensure smooth workflow.
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on existing structures as required.
- Collaborating with other trades such as roofing specialists, masons, and electricians to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assisting with site preparation and clean-up post-completion of tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Joiner or in a similar carpentry or construction role.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Experience in roofing, masonry, or commercial driving is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and work at heights if required.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure precision in all tasks.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or related trades are preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid driving licence for commercial driving duties is desirable.
