About us
The YOU CHOOSE project is seeking to appoint a 1 FTE Key Worker based in Scarborough. We welcome applications from candidates seeking flexibility in their working pattern. While the role is ideally full-time, we are open to discussing part-time hours or other flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.
The project is to empower young people to achieve their aspirations by providing personalised guidance and targeted interventions that support progression into education, employment, or training.

Alongside one-to-one engagement, the postholder delivers group workshops to build employability skills and confidence, while fostering effective partnerships and monitoring progress to ensure positive outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys taking initiative, building partnerships, and working creatively to support young people to achieve positive destinations. You will have the freedom to shape support around individual needs while being part of a supportive and experienced team.

- Passionate about inclusive education and empowering young people to achieve their goals.
- Knowledgeable about progression opportunities and confident in supporting young people into education, employment, training or work experience.
- Skilled and experienced in engaging, motivating, and supporting young people with a range of needs and backgrounds.
- Organised, proactive, and solution-focused, with a genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to success.
- Resilient and confident working in a fast-paced, sometimes challenging environment.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are self-motivated, adaptable, and confident working independently while building strong relationships with young people and partners
It is an exciting time in Children and Young Peoples Services in North Yorkshire as we plan our approach in respect of the Families First Partnership Programme and how we will be responding to the social care reforms. Work is underway to plan our approach and implementations for 2027. As a result of this, some realignment may happen with job roles in the future, we want to be transparent about this in respect of this role.
Interview Process for Key Worker Roles
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a half-day interview process, including a series of case study exercises where they will be asked to discuss how they would respond to scenarios commonly encountered in the role, followed by a formal interview
