This is a key role responsible for ensuring our transport operations remain compliant with all legal, safety, and regulatory requirements. You'll help protect our Operator's Licence by monitoring driver compliance, maintaining accurate records, supporting fleet administration, and working closely with drivers, Transport Managers, and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Transport Compliance
- Monitor driver hours daily to ensure compliance with Working Time Directive and Drivers' Hours Regulations.
- Review driver workloads and ensure routes are appropriately allocated.
- Monitor the use of the Driver App and ensure tip events and driver debriefs are completed accurately.
- Ensure drivers contact the office at the end of their routes for additional work or debrief where required.
- Assist with investigations into incidents, accidents, and driver conduct issues, including supporting disciplinary processes where appropriate.
- Manage driver compliance records and produce monthly compliance reports.
- Maintain Convey working hours data for HGV drivers and provide reports to the Operations Manager and Finance team.
- Maintain transport compliance records and prepare monthly reports for Operations meetings.
- Ensure transport operations comply with current legislation, company policies, and Operator Licence requirements.
Fleet Administration
- Manage company fuel card accounts.
- Process and manage driver expenses.
- Produce weekly vehicle availability and downtime reports.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc operational reports as required.
Transport Administration
- Record and manage driver absences within the HR system.
- Process incoming driver paperwork, ensuring documents are sorted and distributed to the relevant departments.
- Monitor outstanding paperwork and report missing documentation to the Transport Management team.
- Maintain driver training records.
- Administer Transport Manager audit records, appraisals, and other compliance documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and Operations Director on driver and fleet-related matters.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics, fleet, or compliance administration role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience producing reports and managing compliance records.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with drivers and management teams.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
- Understanding of Operator Licence compliance.
- Experience using transport management systems, telematics, or HR systems.
- Experience within the waste management or logistics industry.
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
